Quinton De Kock Feels Jason Behrendorff Is A Great Addition To The MI Camp

Mumbai Indians (MI) are scheduled to host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium later in the day in the 15th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 edition. Ahead of their fourth encounter of the season, Mumbai Indians have received a huge boost in the form of Jason Behrendorff, who has recently joined the camp. Behrendorff was part of the Australian team in the recently concluded five-match ODI series against Pakistan played in the UAE.

Behrendorff played the last two ODIs against Pakistan due to Pat Cummins being rested. He picked up four wickets from two matches. After the conclusion of the series, which Australia won 5-0, the Mumbai Indians newest recruit has finally arrived in India and also joined his IPL teammates at the MI camp on Monday.

He is still getting used to the whole team environment

Recently Behrendorff’s MI teammate Quinton de Kock mentioned that Behrendorff surely has been a great addition to the team. De Kock revealed that Jason has been here since the last two days and he is still getting used to the whole team environment and the conditions. He noted that the Australian fast bowler is getting through the paces in order to do well in the tournament.

“Obviously, he’s [Jason] just been here for a couple of days. I’m sure he’s still getting used to the whole team environment. We’re still getting to know each other, but he’s been a very good addition to the team since he’s been here… he’s just having a net session, getting used to conditions. I’m sure he’s just going through the paces to make sure he has a good tournament,” said Quinton de Kock.

The South African wicket-keeper batsman stated MI has played its last three matches on batting friendly wickets and in the IPL, the pressure is always on the bowlers. “I think the last three wickets we’ve played on have been batsman-friendly and in the IPL the bowlers are always under a lot of pressure. It doesn’t matter who you are, but I’m sure the bowlers in our team will stand up. They do very well for their country and so far, they’ve done well for – when possible – Mumbai. So, I’m sure they are going to stand up for us very soon,” he added.
