I Play To Win, Not For The Limelight Says Alzarri Joseph

Alzarri Joseph came into the notice after his impressive stint of 6/12 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad which is now the best bowling analysis in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It was his efforts with the ball, which made Mumbai Indians, defend their modest total of 136/7. The West Indian bowler, Joseph has been playing his first game of the season and still he got the wicket of David Warner on the very first ball of his IPL career. This is something that will keep him in news for the entire season and is something new for the young bowler who thinks otherwise about this.

My aim is to put out the best and win the games for my team said Joseph

The 22-year old young bowler, Joseph said that he is determined to win the matches and doesn’t want to gain any limelight. He also said that the fame and being in limelight will make him feel good but winning matches for his franchisee Mumbai Indians will give him immense pleasure. The 2016 U19 CWC winner, Joseph said that the last of the six wickets against the Sunrisers Hyderabad was very special for him as the team completed that victory with that wicket. He said that for him the most important thing is to win the matches and games for his team.

“I play to win, not for the limelight. It (fame and limelight) is a good feeling but I really want to win this tournament not just for individual performances. My aim is to put out the best and win the games for my team,” said Joseph.

Scorers doesn’t really matter said Joseph

Alzarri Joseph kept hitting with his 140kmph on his IPL debut and made batting worst for the SRH batsmen. In turn Mumbai Indians went ahead to win the title. Joseph reckoned about it that he would continue to bowl in the same manner and he will totally bring in variations if needed in the match but will stick hard on the other batsman.

“Scorers doesn’t really matter. I just go out there and put my best performance. We will have an idea about the pitch and know what all the variations are needed to be used on a given pitch,” said Joseph.
