Seam bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in a stunning form while playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was coming into the IPL after recovering from a back injury and he has started to show the glimpses of the all-rounder which the Indian team has been craving for a long time. He has been finishing games successfully for Mumbai Indians on a consistent basis, smashing 186 runs at a thunderous strike-rate of more than 191.
It is helping me right now
Hardik has seen a tough period in the recent few months due to controversies and injuries. He recently deposed to the BCCI Ombudsman in regards to the infamous Koffee with Karan scandal and is expected to be given a clean chit for the same. Hardik played a brilliant match-winning knock of 37 runs off just 16 balls in the last night’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). After the match, Hardik revealed that he has recovered well from the setback and is currently in a great mindset.
“It’s okay, everyone has a setback and for me, I got some time for my body (working on fitness routines) as well. The time I was out is helping me right now because I am in a good mindset and everything is coming right,” quoted Hardik Pandya.
That’s my role in any team I play for
Hardik noted that has been taking up the finisher’s role from the last four years and reckoned that he likes to do that job. He also mentioned that he trains in the nets to perform to prepare himself for the role and revealed that it is important to play according to the situation.
“I have been doing that for the last four years now. That’s my role in any team I play for. I have been practicing at the nets the same thing. It is about the situation. You play according to situation and if you are smart enough, you will more often get the result you desire,” he added.
