TNPL 2019, Match10- DDD Vs TP, Preview: Dragons Aim To Maintain Unbeaten Streak Against The Patriots

In the tenth match of the exciting Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2019 edition, the Dindigul Dragons (DGD) will be clashing with the TUTI Patriots (TP) at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli on July 27, Saturday. Both the teams are coming into this game very high on confidence as they have recorded convincing victories in their respective previous outings. The Dragons are the only unbeaten team so far with two wins out of two games and they will look to continue in the same vein against the TUTI Patriots.

While the likes of R Ashwin and N Jagadeesan were always going to give a strong look to the team, the impressive performances from young M Silambarasan have made Dindigul Dragons unbeatable. On the other hand, the Patriots put in an impressive all-round performance against Lyca Kovai Kings to register their first win after a disappointing performance in the first match.

Dindigul Dragons likely Playing XI

H Trilok Nag replaced Mohan Abhinav last time out, with Dindigul Dragons opting for an extra seamer at Tirunelveli compared to the team which started the tournament at Dindigul. That was the only change between the two wins, however. Ravichandran Ashwin top-scored in the first game and then took 3-16 in the second, as well as captaining the Dragons to their two victories. Ashwin is one of only a small handful of Indian internationals on show in this tournament.

M Silambarasan has out-shone his captain with his spin bowling so far. His 4-13 bowled the Dragons to victory in their opening game and he followed it up with an excellent 4-20 against the Madurai Panthers too. Narayan Jagadeesan scored 12 fours and a six on his way to an unbeaten 87 from 51 balls last time out, including a century opening partnership. He might not be captain any more, but he still has an important role to play at the top of the order and behind the stumps.

Probable XI: Hari Nishanth, Narayan Jagadeesan (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin (c), NS Chaturved, Rajendran Vivek, Sumant Jain, M Mohammed, Ramilingam Rohit, M Silambarasan, Jagannathan Kaushik, H Trilok Nag.

TUTI Patriots likely Playing XI

Patriots rang the changes after a dreadful opening performance. Five players made way, with Murugesan Kamlesh taking over as wicket-keeper. S Senthil Nathan opened the batting, while V Athisayaraj Davidson opened the bowling. They were rewarded with a six-run win and could stick with that same team, despite Senthil Nathan falling first ball. Akshay Srinivasan scored 55 in the opening game before the batting collapse and then followed it up with 31 last time out. The 25-year-old showed flashes of what to expect with some good starts last year too.

Dakshinamoorthy Kumara took 2-18 last time out, keeping things tidy from end. His economy rate proved vital in the rain-reduced game. V Subramania Siva scored 28 in the first game and followed that with a top score of 44 last time out. Along with Srinivasan, he has scored useful top-order runs and this time he was rewarded when the middle-order built on them.

Probable XI: Akshay Srinivasan, S Senthil Nathan, V Subramania Siva (c), Nidhish Rajagopal, S Abishiek, Vasanth Saravanan, SP Nathan, Murugesan Kamlesh (wk), V Athisayaraj Davidson, M Ganesh Moorthi, Dakshinamoorthy Kumaran.
