The United States of America (USA) is all set to enter into the historical books of international cricket as One-Day International format is making debut in the country. USA will be hosting Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the first-ever ODI match in US commencing on September 13. This match is included as the first game of the ICC World Cup League 2 tri-series that Namibia is also a part of.
Incidentally, the United States and the British Province of Canada played the first international match in the history of cricket in 1844. T20I cricket matches have been contested in the past in USA. West Indies have played the hosts to many teams for T20I matches at Lauderhill in Florida.
This tri-series involving USA, Namibia and PNG will consist of six matches and will guide the team in the way forward in the World Cup 2023. USA and Namibia will be making their debuts in the World Cup League 2 tournament. All the games of the tri-series will be played in Fort Lauderdale.
