After the convincing defeat at the hands of India in the first Test match, the visiting South African team would be very much eager to make a comeback in the three-match Test series. India will be locking horns with South Africa in the second Test match starting from October 10 in Pune. In the recent development, the rain gods could play a spoilsport in the Pune Test match.
Even in the first Test match in Vizag, rains came down heavily on Day 1 and only 56 overs were possible on the day. The weather forecast is not encouraging in Pune for the next five days. The trend of unseasonal rains has continued to play a part in the city. According to the weather reports, it is expected to be cloudy on the entire of Day 1.
In case of heavy rain and the Test match ending up getting up abandoned, then both India and South Africa will get 13 points each in the World Test Championship. India is currently on top of the points table with a tally of 160 points, while South Africa is yet to open its account.
