Much like West Indies, the Sri Lankan team is also currently struggling across the three formats of the game. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have now decided to rope a new coaching staff, however, nothing is confirmed right now. Former Pakistan, Australia and South Africa head coach Mickey Arthur is very much likely to be named Sri Lankan head coach. The announcement is yet to be made official.
Arthur will be roped on a two-year contract along with Grant Flower as the batting coach, David Saker as the bowling coach and Shane McDermott as the fielding coach for the same duration period. It is also being reported that the new coaching staff’s first assignment will be the upcoming Test series in Pakistan.
“They will all be joining on two-year contracts,” quoted SLC Chief Executive Officer, Ashley de Silva.
