Finally, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the replacements for MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda in Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh respectively. The newly formed Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of former Indian cricketers, Madan Lal, RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik interviewed five candidates including big names like Venkatesh Prasad, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan and Rajesh Chauhan out of the 40 names shortlisted.
Joshi was picked as the chief selector on the basis of his seniority as he has played 15 Test matches that is the newest guideline released by the BCCI. On the other hand, Harvinder Singh has represented India in 3 Tests. The duo of Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh will be part of the All-India senior selection panel along with Devang Gandhi, Jatin Paranjpe and Sarandeep Singh.
Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh have taken over from the vacated positions from south and central zone respectively. The Sunil Joshi-led selection committee’s first assignment will be the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa at home.
