The match was also rather thrilling; as both the teams were tied at 185 and it went to the Super Over. The Kolkata Knight Riders came out to bat first after the top order of the team slumped. It was the rejuvenated big hitting machine, Andre Russell scoring 62 runs off 28 balls and Dinesh Karthik scoring 50 off 36 balls that took the KKR total to 185 on the scoreboard. From the Delhi side, Prithvi Shaw’s noteworthy performance of 99 runs off 55 balls made the team chase the total as the match went to the Super Over.

It proved to be a rather futile attempt for KKR as Kasigo Rabada’s Yorkers ensured that KKR were able to chase the 11 runs. The clip that was less than a minute however brought Pant into controversy. In the clip it is being said that Pant says “this is a four” as Uthappa faced Sandeep Lamichhane and the next delivery batted a four.

No one heard what Rishabh said before that particular sentence said the BCCI official

The audio clip that was doing rounds made cries of suspected foul play; however the BCCI said that nobody heard what Pant said before that particular sentence. “No one heard what Rishabh said before that particular sentence. He was apparently telling (Delhi Capitals captain) Shreyas Iyer to increase fielders on off-side to stop an imminent four,” said the BCCI official.

The BCCI also said that trying to underrate a young cricketer without even knowing the details is very unfortunate. “Maligning a young cricketer without even knowing the details is so unfortunate.
