IPL 2019, Match 15- MI Vs CSK, Preview: Rohit Sharma And His Men Eyeing To Take Down Chennai’s Winning Streak

After an intriguing battle in Jaipur, the focus now shifts to the clash of the two titans of the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. In the 15th match of the season, both the three time title winners, Mumbai Indians (MI) will be locking horns with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

However, both the IPL heavyweights have had contrasting starts to their IPL 2019 campaign. The MS Dhoni-led team have shown some remarkable consistency by winning all their three games played so far, while Rohit Sharma & Co. have once again lived up to its traditions of being the slow starters, losing two games out of three.

Mumbai Indians are coming into this game after conceding a convincing defeat in their last game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). The massive fan base and all the experts were extremely delighted when the MI team management revealed that after a lot of chopping and changing, this year skipper Rohit Sharma will finally bat at his usual opening position. However, Rohit has been doing a fabulous job along with Quinton de Kock, but the middle-order batters have failed to continue scoring at the same pace through the rest of the innings.

Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya are yet to come to the party and thus, they will be eager to be back amongst the runs in this game in order to better their team's fortunes in IPL 2019. In the bowling department, there is only one major concern and that is Hardik Pandya. He is yet to deliver efficiently with the ball this season, however, he has guarded the role of the finisher with the bat explosively well.

On the other hand, the Yellow army has started its title defence with three convincing victories and are thus, placed at the top spot on the points table. They do have a pretty balanced and settled core this year as well. But there are still some issues especially in the batting which needs to be looked into in order to continue the winning run. Ambati Rayudu's poor form with the bat is the major headache for the CSK team management.

He desperately needs to be back in form pretty quickly, otherwise his World Cup dreams will drive through the barrel. Suresh Raina is the other batsman who has failed to convert his starts into big scores and  he will be wanting to improve the same issue. Both the CSK spinners as well as fast bowlers have displayed sensational performances so far and they will be looking to continue the good work in the rest of the season as well.
