Andre Russell has taken the entire IPL tournament with storm with his astonishing batting skills. He was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders franchisee and has caught the eye of cricket by all the experts and fans. His biggest stint came against the Royal Challengers Bangalore after he played an unbelievable 48 runs with 13 balls and aided KKR to make 53 runs in the last 18 balls of the match and this made his team win the match against RCB.
Russell has been hitting a lot of sixes and he is doing well for his team says Gowtham
He has so far amassed 207 runs from 77 deliveries at an unbelievable strike rate of 250. With this said, KKR is all ready to face the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Sunday and the crowd will be waiting for him to display his amazing batting skills in front of the crowd. However, the Rajasthan Royals bowler, Krishnappa Gowtham said that they have a certain strategy to handle Russell and has already issued a big warning to him. “He has been in very good form. He has been hitting a lot of sixes and he is doing well for his team. We do have a plan set for him and hopefully it comes out,” said Gowtham.
We were having certain hiccups but we are peaking at the right time said Gowtham
The last meeting between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders ended with Russell unbeaten. He played a total innings of 49 runs off 25 balls which also included two sixes against Jofra Archer’s over. In end KKR defeated RR in that game and then they moved on to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier in the previous IPL season 2018. Currently, Rajasthan Royals are ranked seventh in the points tally as they have only won against RCB and have gained two points for the same. However, when asked about the team’ situation from Gowtham, he said that the team’s ranking is topping at the right time.
“Yes, we were having certain hiccups but we are peaking at the right time and doing well. In the last game against RCB, everything came out really well. We want to carry on the winning momentum. It was not that we had bowled badly but it was just that we couldn’t come out at the crucial time and we couldn’t perform. It’s just that,” said Gowtham.
