The former Indian captain, MS Dhoni never actually loses his cool on the field while he is leading his side. However, during the game against the Kings XI Punjab, he was kind of muffled with Deepak Chahar when he bowled slower beamers in the penultimate over. At that point of time, the game was in a level and the KXIP needed 39 off last two overs. He was given the responsibility for the first time and he failed to deliver some good deliveries in the starting.
This resulted in the opposition scoring eight runs without even counting of a single ball. This was where the captain cool; Dhoni went towards the bowler, Chahar and he was talking to him in an animated fashion even when the umpires warned him for bowling the beamers. The youngster then conceded well with only five runs in the next deliveries which left 26 runs for Scott as CSK went forth to win the match comfortably.
Dhoni was very angry with me said Chahar
After receiving a good blow from him, post the match Chahar was seen being hugged by Dhoni. He said that Chahar has done a good job bowling for the first time at the death overs and has bowled an excellent over. Chahar reckoned the moment and said that initially Dhoni was very angry with him but later he said that he has done well in the game.
“Dhoni bhai was very angry with me. It was a big mistake that I made. He said a lot of things. Honestly, at the back of my mind, I was thinking ‘what to bowl next?” said Chahar.
He smiled and hugged me said Chahar
Chahar went forth to say that all the teammates congratulated him after the match and said that he has bowled brilliantly in the death overs and the skipper came forth to say to him ‘Well Done’ with a smile on his face.
“After the match every player of my team came and congratulated me. They said I bowled brilliantly at the death’. Dhoni bhai also came up to me. He smiled and hugged me. He said ‘well done’. I know I bowled two bad deliveries, but I made an immediate comeback. He (Dhoni) also encouraged me and asked me to do well in the tournament. I was extremely happy that I contributed in my team’s victory,” said Chahar.
