Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) big-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell has been in a flabbergasting form in the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The herculean West Indian has smacked a belligerent total of 257 runs in five games at a phenomenal average of 128.50. With an astounding strike-rate of 212.40, Russell has even ripped apart the best of IPL 2019 bowling line-ups. The teams have almost started to believe that it is impossible to restrict the unstoppable West Indian power-hitter.
Kuldeep exposes Russell’s weakness
Russell’s KKR teammate, Kuldeep Yadav mentioned that the big-hitting all-rounder finds it difficult to come in terms with the turning ball. He revealed that Russell is surely vulnerable when the ball starts to turn. “He has some problems facing a turning ball. If the ball is turning, then he has a weakness,” said Kuldeep Yadav.
Kuldeep stated that Russell usually hesitates to take unnecessary chances against the spinners. The leggie also revealed the fact that he hasn’t yet bowled to the power-hitter in the nets. “He does not take chance against spinners. He’s a terror for pacers. And I’ve never bowled him at the nets. You are always under pressure when you’re hit for two sixes in a row,” he added.
I know how to stop him
With this stunning form, Russell will be expected to play a huge role for the Windies team in the upcoming 2019 World Cup. However, Indian chinaman bowler, Kuldeep noted that he has many different plans which he would unleash against Russell during the mega event in England and Wales. The 24-year-old leggie reckoned that he is very much clear in his mind on how to stop Russell’s outrageous onslaught.
“It’s not just this, I’ve different plans to unleash against him in the World Cup. I know how to stop him and I’m very clear in my mind,” the Indian frontline spinner explained.
