I Just Bowled According To MS Dhoni’s Instructions Says Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir grabbed massive headlines in the yesterday’s encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The right-arm leg spinner displayed a sensational match-winning performance, claiming a brilliant four-wicket haul to restrict the opposition within a chaseable first innings total. He was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his remarkable figures of 4 for 27.

It’s always beneficial taking advice from Dhoni

During the post-match press conference, Tahir mentioned some praiseworthy comments for his skipper, MS Dhoni. He noted that he bowled in the match as Dhoni told him to. Tahir reckoned that it always helpful to take advice from someone like Dhoni. He also revealed that the entire credit of his remarkable bowling spell goes to the skipper.

“I just bowled according to the captain’s instructions. It’s always beneficial taking advice from Dhoni. He’s helping me a lot. It’s an absolute pleasure and the credit goes to him,” quoted Imran Tahir.

Tahir further stated that Dhoni guides him about the right areas and lengths to bowl on and his thinking has worked really well till now. “There are few things which he tells me like where I need to bowl, which area and where the guy is going to hit. It’s working and I’m just loving it. We are playing good cricket. We respect each other and enjoy each other’s success,” he added.

I wanted to take the challenge

KKR opener Chris Lynn dictated the terms with a sensational knock in the first half of the game, but his splendid innings was then and itself outweighed by Imran Tahir’s staggering spin bowling spell. Tahir removed the dangerous duo of Chris Lynn and Andre Russell in a single over to leave the visitors in a troublesome situation.

“I could have bowled two more dot balls to him or one run to him. But I wanted to take the challenge and wanted to get him out as simple as that. He hit me for four and a six which was fine. In the end, I got his wicket which was very important for the team more than personal achievement. He’s such a good player especially at the death so it’s a pleasure to get him out,” Tahir concluded.
