There isn’t any bigger rivalry in the cricketing world than the mighty India-Pakistan battle. India has an incredible record against Pakistan in the history of the World Cup 2019. The teams first locked horns back in 1992 at the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Men in Blue came out trumps by 43 runs. Ever since then Pakistan has lost five matches in a row. Quite expectantly, India is being deemed as the firm favourites to win their clash on June 16 at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
There was a doubt over hosting the marquee clash after the Pulwama Attacks in February, but the match is set to take place as per scheduled as of now. In the meanwhile, Pakistan team has “no chance” of beating India in the much-anticipated World Cup clash on June 16 as the current team under Sarfaraz Ahmed lacks experience, feels veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
“Pakistan’s form isn’t that great and they don’t have much experience as well. Pakistani teams in the past were difficult to beat but their current team will lose 9 times out of 10 against India,” quoted Harbhajan Singh.
How will this team beat India now?
Harbhajan mentioned that quality Pakistan teams in the past have not managed to get the better of India in World Cup matches and thus, how will this team do the unthinkable. “There is no chance. When Pakistan had great teams in the past, even they couldn’t beat India in the World Cups. How will this team beat India now?” Harbhajan added.
Pakistan handed a convincing defeat to India in the finale clash of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy event in England and Wales. On the other hand, India defeated the arch-rivals twice in the 2018 Asia Cup. Harbhajan reckons that the pressure will be more on India in the upcoming game.
“The pressure will be more on India. When two fighters spar, the stronger one always has the fear of failure. Pressure of losing against Pakistan will be immense. Because I know what happens in India when we lose to Pakistan,” he mentioned.
“People don’t remember what happened in other matches but when we play against Pakistan they remember everything. And Pakistan have got nothing to lose, if they win against India that will be a bonus. But if India lose that game then it will be very bad for us,” Harbhajan concluded.
