The match 9 of the ICC World Cup 2019 saw New Zealand running a victorious errand against Bangladesh, the credit for which can be given to Ross Taylor who smashed a valiant 82 to pave way for his team’s victory. After the victory, Taylor said that the Black Caps sure need to work on their running in between the wickets even after they emerged successful in their knock in the World Cup 2019.

“It was nice to get over the line at the end of the day. We need to work on our running between the wickets, there were a couple of close calls there,” said Taylor who smashed 82 runs off 91 balls and earned the Man of the Match award. He decorated his this stud with nine boundaries, taking about his team in the post-match ceremony held at the Kennington Oval in London.

Talking about the same, Taylor praised the opponent team, Bangladesh for their never say never attitude who gave a tough competition to New Zealand during the match. “I was very nervous in the end. But gotta give the credit to Bangladesh and their supporters who came out in numbers. They put a lot of pressure on us and this could have gone either way. We thought 270-280 was a good score on this wicket but the bowlers kept it tight,” Taylor said.
Taylor and the skipper , Kane Williamson of the New Zealand squad where involved in a 105-run partnership for the third wicket. Thy put the team back in the radar after the early departures of their openers. “I do enjoy batting with Kane and hopefully we run well between the wickets against Afghanistan (on June 8),” he concluded.
