The big positive came for the Indian team with the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the indoor nets in Manchester on Tuesday. He bowled for 30-35 minutes and the pacer has lit up the hopes of the Indian team management. However, it is still not clear whether he will be a part of the World Cup contention against West Indies at the Old Trafford on Thursday, but the run-up bowling session has indicated that the hamstring problem has been solved.
It has been reported that the pacer initially started with a run-up and then he gradually increased at run-up under the supervision of Patrick Farhart. “It is indeed a positive sign as he bowled close to 30-35 minutes under Farhart’s observation. It started with a small four or five step run-in to the wicket before he kept increasing the run-up at regular intervals. He was also checked on by skipper Virat Kohli during his net session. There was no visible discomfort and that is a good sign,” informed a source.
Navdeep is the only net bowler here and he will train with the Indian cricket team
Earlier during the day, even Navdeep Saini has joined the Indian squad in Manchester but it has been informed that he has only joined the camp as a net bowler. The most interesting thing over here is that Saini has been named as one of the players in the 15 member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. “Navdeep Saini has arrived in Manchester. Navdeep is the only net bowler here and he will train with the Indian cricket team.” Said the BCCI official message.
He has joined as a net bowler and not as anybody’s cover like Pant had come
A source however informed that Saini is not there to cover up for anyone just like Rishabh Pant has been called as a cover for Shikhar Dhawan who has been ruled out for the entire World Cup. “He has joined as a net bowler and not as anybody’s cover like Pant had come in as cover for Shikhar Dhawan,” said the source.
