Although the UK Prime Minister Theresa May stepped down from the helm earlier this year, two of the former England cricketers have received delight from her side. She was seen attending many of the cricket matches and had a good regard for the game. Geoffrey Boycott and Andrew Strauss have been knighted.
Both Boycott and Strauss have captained England for a sufficient amount of time and have been successful as well. They have contributed a lot towards the success of English cricket in their respective illustrious international careers. Strauss won two Ashes Test series as captain of England team and also succeeded in taking his national team at the No.1 spot in the ICC Test Rankings. He compiled 7,037 runs in 100 Tests.
On the other hand, Boycott scored 8,114 runs in 108 Test matches. He was the leading run-getter in the longest format of the game for a considerable amount of time. Boycott has smashed over 150 first-class hundreds.
