After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Jamaica Tallawahs didn’t get off to the best of starts as Glenn Philips got out early with 37 runs on the board. However, the duo comprising of Chris Gayle and Chadwick Walton then got together to steady the things for the Tallawahs. The pair compiled a monumental partnership of 162 runs for the second wicket.
Walton scored 73 runs off 36 balls that included of eight sixes and three fours. While Gayle composed a stunning innings of 116 runs off just 62 balls that consisted of 10 sixes and 7 fours as the Jamaica Tallawahs posted 241 for 4 in 20 overs. For St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Fabian Allen and Alzarri Joseph took two wickets each.
In the second innings, the St Kitts got off to a perfect start in reply to a massive run-chase as Evin Lewis and Devon Thomas added 85 runs for the first wicket partnership. Both the openers registered half-centuries as Thomas racked up 71 runs off 40 balls and Lewis scored 53 runs off 18 balls which included 6 sixes.
The pair of Laurie Evans and Thomas stitched a stand of 76 runs for the second wicket to lead the strong foundation. Fabian Allen and Shamarh Brooks contributed with vital cameos each to help the Patriots chase down the total with seven balls to spare. Oshane Thomas picked up four wickets but didn’t get the support from the rest of the bowlers. Evin Lewis was adjudged as the Man of the Match.
