Tim Paine Considers Fifth Ashes Test As Grand Final

The Ashes 2019 Test series between England and Australia has showcased one of the most thrilling and intense cricketing action in the modern day cricketing world. Although, it is decided that the Urn is going back to Australia as they registered a memorable win in the fourth Test match in Manchester, there is still lot of thrill and entertainment left in the five-match Test series.

Paine desperately wants to win the fifth Test

The fifth and final match is set to start later in the day at the Kennington Oval. Hosts England would be aiming to level the series and stake their pride after having lost the battle to regain the Urn. On the other hand, the confident Tim Paine-led Australian team is all charged up to register their first Ashes series victory in the English country since 2001.

“This is our grand final. We want this Test just as much as any other Test that we’ve played in this series,” quoted Tim Paine ahead of the final Test match.

Paine mentioned that barring the last hour of the historic Test in Headingley, things have gone in their way in this series so far. He also noted that a victory at the Oval will be like icing on the cake. Paine revealed that the visiting team has surely moved on from that Headingley loss.

“Bar probably an hour at Headingley it’s gone as we’d have liked. We would like to be 3-1 up already but we made a few errors at Headingley (third Test) in that last hour but we’ve moved on from it. We’re obviously ecstatic to be here at 2-1 and we want to put the icing on the cake and make sure it’s 3-1 before we go home,” concluded Paine.
