After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Maratha Arabians got off to a disappointing start losing the wicket of their opening batsman Hazratullah Zazai on the very first ball of the match. The pair of Chris Lynn and Adam Lyth then got together to bail their team out of the troublesome situation. Both Lynn and Lyth batted in a pretty explosive mode smashing the opposition bowlers all around the park.
Lyth brought up an amazing half-century off just 19 balls, however, got dismissed pretty quickly after scoring 50 runs that included five sixes and three fours. His partner at the other end, Lynn smashed his second fifty in this Abu Dhabi T10 League. Lynn compiled an excellent innings of 61 runs off just 31 balls as Maratha Arabians finished with 129 for 4 in 10 overs. For Karnataka Tuskers, Raza, Rimmington and Lamichhane picked a wicket each.
Just after the first innings ended, drizzle arrived and so did the covers. The drizzle was not that heavy but the umpires were forced to call off the play.
Maratha Arabians: 129/4 in 10 overs (Chris Lynn-61, Adam Lyth-50; Sandeep Lamichhane 1/25)
Result: Match abandoned due to rain.
