Looking ahead at the bigger picture in the World T20 2020 in Australia, India named a full strength T20I squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies. The likes of Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav have been recalled to the T20I side. After missing the Bangladesh T20Is, Ravindra Jadeja has also made his return for both West Indies T20Is and ODIs.
The dangerous and successful leg-spin combo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have been reunited in the T20I format. The pair of Sanju Samson and Rahul Chahar, who couldn't get a game during the Bangladesh series, have not been included in the side. On the other hand, all-rounder Shivam Dube has retained his T20I spot and has also earned his maiden ODI call-up.
The pace bowling duo comprising of Khaleel Ahmed and Shardul Thakur have been dropped as the experience of Shami and Bhuvneshwar has been brought in. Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya has also been left out with Jadeja coming in as the like-for-like replacement.
There is no update regarding MS Dhoni's future with the national team as he wasn't available for selection once again. West Indies are scheduled to tour India for three T20Is and as many ODIs starting with the 1st T20I on December 6.
