Since taking office as the new BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly has been trying his very best to set a precedent for the betterment of Indian cricket. Ganguly’s first initiative, the historic day-night Test match between India and Bangladesh was a great success as the crowd gathered in large numbers at the iconic Eden Gardens to witness the first-ever pink ball Test match in India. However, there are still many more challenges to come for the former Indian captain and surely he would be ready for all of them.
Currently, there is a huge debate over the uncertainty of MS Dhoni’s future international cricket plans. During a recent interview, Ganguly stated his opinion on the most discussed agenda and also provided some clarity over the same. Dhoni hasn’t played any competitive cricket since the 2019 World Cup semi-final fixture against New Zealand. The cricketing world has been awaiting any update on the veteran’s future in international cricket.
“We will see what happens, there’s enough time. Of course, it will get clear (within three months),” quoted Sourav Ganguly.
“No no, there is clarity, but certain things cannot be said on a public platform. There is absolute clarity on MS Dhoni and you’ll find out in time. There’s transparency between the Board, MS Dhoni and the selectors. When you deal with such champions — MS Dhoni is an unbelievable athlete for India — certain things have to be kept within the closed doors. It’s very transparent and everybody knows where they stand,” he added.
