We Always Play Well In Chennai Says CSK Off-Spinner Harbhajan Singh

The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recorded a brilliant 6-wicket victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. The match saw two great performers of the IPL coming back in form and that too after a long time. SRH registered an imposing first innings total due to David Warner and Manish Pandey’s sensational knocks. Pandey announced his form arrival in style with a sensational unbeaten 83-run knock.

However, in the second innings, it was the CSK opener, Shane Watson, who completely outweighed everybody else with his scintillating 96-run knock which in turn powered CSK to a splendid victory. With this win, CSK are back at the top position on the points table and have also successfully booked a place in yet another IPL playoffs.

We know our conditions

CSK have won all their five home games thus far in the tournament. While speaking on the winning streak after yesterday’s match CSK off-spinner Harbhajan Singh revealed that the three-time IPL champions have always played really well at home as they are very much accustomed to the conditions. Harbhajan also thanked the Chepauk crowd for the support. The veteran Indian off-spinner noted that the opposition teams need to play with their highest of abilities in order to beat CSK in its home conditions.

“We always play well in Chennai, we know our conditions, and thanks to this beautiful crowd who come here to Chennai Super Kings. When teams come here, they have to play much better cricket than us to beat us,” quoted Harbhajan Singh.

We would have finished the game in the 19th over itself

Harbhajan, who claimed the prized scalps of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner in his comeback game, reckoned that the home team could have finished the game till the 19th over itself, but rather somehow managed to take the match till the second last ball of the final over with Kedar Jadhav scoring the winning run.

“We would have liked to finish the game in the 19th over itself, but the boys were just testing our hearts. Somehow we have the tendency to take it to the last over. As long as we’re getting the result, we’re fine,” he added.

Harbhajan also heaped praises on Watson and mentioned that it feels great to witness the former Aussie cricketer coming back in form. He also cited the example of Watson’s scintillating match-winning hundred which helped CSK win the prestigious IPL 2018 title and noted that the opener has been a serious performer for CSK.

“It’s nice to see Shane Watson getting those runs under his belt. He’s a serious player, last year he won us the final single-handedly, and this innings will boost his confidence,” Harbhajan concluded.
