Anshuman Gaekwad Picks Kedhar Jadhav For No.4 Spot Of The Indian Team

India’s number four debacle has been a cause of concern many times. However, the number-4 spot seems to drive a lot of attention and not for the good reasons. Not only this but just when the Indian fans were satisfied with the way the Indian team handled the top batting order of the team, Afghanistan exposed the true weak points in the batting squad of the Men In Blue team. India has performed exceptionally well against South Africa in their World Cup opener, Australia which whom the team lost a five-match ODI series at home, their staunch rivals Pakistan and the new in line Afghanistan team. Their clash against the Afghani squad was something that the team could have written history in, but the batting lineup failed to cross the much speculated 300 runs mark. The Afghanistan bowlers were able to restrict the team at 224 runs for eight and the team instead won the match by a margin of 11 runs only.

Kedar Jadhav is a smart cricketer

Except for the skipper of the team, Virat Kohli who scored 67 runs off 63 balls, no one else was able to pass their run marks which Rohit Sharma scoring 1 run in 10 balls and his opener match, KL Rahul scoring only 30 runs off 53 balls. Not only this, but the former skipper of the Indian squad, MS Dhoni wasn’t good at the crease as well, scoring only 28 runs off 52 balls.

Talking about the same the former Indian cricketer and coach Anshuman Gaekwad utters about the importance of the No.4 spot in the team saying that according to him Kedhar Jadhav is a good fit for it. “Kedar Jadhav is a smart cricketer. He is a busy player and can rotate the strike. He can also play his shots. I think he should bat at No.4,” says Gaekwad.

The other option is Dinesh Karthik

He further said that the other option for the team is Dinesh Karthik who has an experience in being a great finisher for the team as well. He is great on the crease and is an important asset when India needs the team. “The other option is Dinesh Karthik. He has the experience and is a proven finisher. He likes to take his time at the crease and that is important when India are in trouble. You need someone who can stem the rot along with Virat (Kohli),”says Gaekwad.
