India will be soon facing New Zealand is the semi-final after the league stage of the World Cup 2019. The Indian cricket team, finished top in the points table of the ICC World Cup 2019 with 15 points and so will be fighting the first semi-final against New Zealand currently situated at the fourth spot on July 9 2019 at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Both the teams were scheduled to battle in the league stage but their match at Nottingham was washed off due to rain.
Jadeja is one option I would like to throw on the table to team management
New Zealand on the other hand, have lost three matches back to back and need to play really well in order to defeat India in the semi-finals. Talking about the same, the former India batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, said that Ravindra Jadeja is one option that can bat in the semis against the Back Caps. The master blaster further said that Kohli’s team is playing with five bowlers right not and Jadeja in the camp will add an extra option for the bowling.
“Jadeja is one option I would like to throw on the table to team management. I feel if Dinesh Karthik is going to bat at No. 7 then possible Jadeja could be an option there because his left-arm spin can come in handy. In a big match you would want a cover-up because we are playing just 5 bowlers,” said Jadeja.
I would also be tempted to bring back Mohammed Shami
Sachin said that Mohammed Shami has so far grabbed 14 wickets but was rested in the game against Sri Lanka at Leeds, but he should be back in the playing eleven. “I would also be tempted to bring back Mohammed Shami because against West Indies he was good at the same venue. When we talk about Old Trafford there are pleasant experiences for Shami, he came back into the team and picked up wickets. So I would be tempted to have him back,” said Sachin.
