Pakistan suffered a major heartbreak after India lost the match against England and a number of Pakistani fans blamed the Indian team for losing their place in the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales. The Pakistani team lost their stance of entering the semi-finals of the World Cup owing to the poor net run rate. While New Zealand and Pakistani both had 11 points in the points table, but the former team will be battling their semi-final of the World Cup 2019 against India on Tuesday, and the latter lost their place in the semi-finals due to the poor run rate.
The net run rate became a deciding factor and Pakistan on the other hand had to bow down but the Pakistani media and the fans have been taking shots at the India team and accused them of giving it all against England, marking the only match lost by the Indian team. A win of India against England would’ve had made Pakistan qualify through however the team lost the match by 31 runs while chasing a target of 337 runs.
England played well to win
While Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli looked settled on the pitch and it was looking that the team will be able to pass through the crucial juncture, however towards the end of the game, the pitch became slower and Indian batsmen found it tough to hit big shots. The Pakistani fans on the other hand, said that the Indian team wasn’t able to put a lot of efforts and so they lost the match against the spirit of the game. They even said that it might be a fixed contest since India would not like Pakistan going through the semi-finals. After sometime the captain of the Pakistani team, Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed his views on the matter and said that it is not right to blame the Indian team for their not entering the semi-finals of the World Cup. “No, no, it is not right to say this. I don’t think India lost because of us. England played well to win,” said Ahmed.
I think you should address them as Bangladesh
He even corrected a journalist who used the word ‘Bengali’s’ for Bangladesh saying that they should not use this word. “Please don’t use this word. It could become an issue for you on the social media. I think you should address them as Bangladesh. You are using objectionable word,” said Ahmed.
