After the historic 3-0 whitewash of South Africa, India’s home season will now be welcoming Bangladesh to play a three-match T20I series and a couple of Test matches. The home series will commence with the first T20I match scheduled to be played on November 3 in Delhi. The visiting Bangladesh team has already named its squad for both the T20Is and Tests, but currently, the senior players are on a strike against the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and have raised an 11-point demand.
In case the BCB fails to meet the players’ demands, Bangladesh senior cricketers will not be touring India next month. On the other hand, as per the latest reports, India’s squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh is expected to be picked on October 24. Sourav Ganguly will be officially appointed as the BCCI president in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 23.
“This meeting will be crucial as its happening right after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BCCI. Captain Virat Kohli who is playing continuously will be given rest or not is still a question because as of now there is no confirmation from the selection panel. Also, Sourav Ganguly is likely to meet Kohli on the sidelines of the meeting,” stated the source.
The reports also revealed that captain Virat Kohli might be rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh. Previously, Sourav mentioned that he will be discussing about MS Dhoni’s future with the national selectors and the team management in this selection meeting.
