Rohit Sharma Might Be Rested For West Indies ODIs

India is currently preparing and working hard to settle down with the best possible combination for the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia. In the road to the mega event next year, it is very much important to manage the workload of the players who are playing all three formats of the game on consistent basis. India’s regular captain Virat Kohli was recently rested during the three-match home T20I series against Bangladesh.

According to the latest reports, Rohit Sharma is expected to be given a break during the upcoming ODI series against the Windies. He is reported to be rested for the three-match ODI series against West Indies at home. Rohit has been playing a lot of cricket in the recent few months since this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, Rohit is reportedly not keen on being rested for the limited-overs series starting on December 15. But the team management is likely to convince him as the selection committee will be announcing the squad on November 21. In case, Rohit is given a break during the Windies ODIs, Mayank Agarwal is likely to replace him in the national team. It will be a huge opportunity for Mayank to showcase his talent in the limited-overs format as well and continue his sensational Test cricket form.
