After winning the toss and opting to bat first in this crucial Qualifier 1 of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the Maratha Arabians got off to a poor start losing the wicket of Hazratullah Zazai in the very first over. The pair of Adam Lyth and Chris Lynn then joined hands to resurrect the innings and guide them further in the game. Lyth got out after scoring 28 runs off 15 balls and stitched a valuable partnership of 51 runs along with Lynn.
Qalandars’ pacer Jordan Clark bowled an excellent spell to rattle the Maratha Arabians’ middle-order and slowed down scoring rate as well. However, it was Chris Lynn once again who played yet another defining innings of 67 runs off just 30 balls that included 6 sixes and 4 fours which helped Maratha Arabians finish with 119 for 6 in 10 overs. For the Qalandars, Clark picked four crucial wickets, while Garton and Mujeeb finished with a wicket each.
In the second innings, Qalandars got off to an explosive start with opening batsman Luke Ronchi coming out with an aggressive mindset. Ronchi played a brief knock of 17 runs off 12 balls before getting dismissed by Dwayne Bravo in the third over. Phillip Salt also got out pretty soon after contributing 26 runs off just 10 balls.
The required run-rate kept on increasing rapidly while the batters were finding it tough to time the ball nicely and get going. Laurie Evans was playing really well towards the end as he scored 35 runs off just 17 balls but failed to take his team over the line. Eventually, the Qalandars posted 112 for 4 in their quota of 10 overs. For the Arabians, Bravo, Shiraz and McClenaghan picked a wicket each.
