Ahead of the three-match ODI series against South Africa at home, India’s premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya has staged a sensational comeback to competitive cricket with his brilliant performances in the ongoing DY Patil T20 Cup. Hardik recently underwent a surgery for his back in London and has recovered from the injury after completing his rehabilitation process. In his comeback game, while playing for Reliance 1 team, Hardik stroked a remarkable ton off only 39 balls and also went on to claim a brilliant five-wicket haul with the ball to guide his team to victory.
In the recent game between Reliance 1 and Bharat Petroleum Company Limited (BPCL), Hardik came on to bat when his team was in deep trouble at 10 for 2. The all-rounder blasted an entertaining unbeaten knock of 158 runs off only 55 balls that consisted of 20 towering sixes and 4 fours. Hardik’s fantastic innings powered the Reliance 1 side to 238 for 4 in 20 overs.
With these two stunning performances, Pandya is knocking quite hard on the selectors’ door and looks almost certain to make his international comeback in the upcoming home series against South Africa. The newly appointed chairman Sunil Joshi-led selection panel is expected to pick India’s squad on March 7, Saturday.
