Speaking exclusively over the telephone from Birmingham, he said, "Moeen, when diagnosed with Corona in Sri Lanka was supposed to return from there because he was unable to play both the Test matches but somehow went to India".
"He was away from the family and was quarantined for two weeks in Sri Lanka.   He is missing his family very much and wants to spend a few days with his young children-son and daughter- before again returning to play there".
"He needs some rest and then prepare for the future matches. If he is picked in the IPL auction will be busy again. He will be away for a long time and wants to refresh here".
"I'm very happy as he is playing a Test series after 18 months. Getting Virat Kohli out twice in a Test and taking 8 wickets is a happy moment for us. He just needs more respect for what he can do. He might get the blame for losing this game too", the father added.
"He is on white-ball contract only. They (the ECB) took his central contract away after one bad game against  Australia 2 years ago".
