World Cup Is Definitely On My Bucket List And Something I Definitely Want To Do Exclaims Nathan Lyon

Nathan Lyon made his international debut exactly seven years ago; however, he still struggles to maintain his spot in the limited overs teams for his country. He has appeared in a total of18 ODIs and two T20Is for the Australian squad, but his stakes of making it into his team for the World Cup extravaganza is still a dicey situation. He reckoned by saying that as a Australian cricketer, you always aspire to play into big tournaments like this and it is something that he wants to do in his bucket list. “As an Australian cricketer, you always want to play in the big tournaments and I've never had the opportunity to play in a World Cup. It's definitely on my bucket list, something I definitely want to do,” sad Lyon.

Lyon has failed to play impactful performances

Although, the player has been in the three ODIs for Australia, he has failed to register some impactful performances. “I'm really enjoying playing white-ball cricket and being back in coloured clothing for Australia. For me it's about enjoying the challenge and try to get better in the shorter format. I'm always about learning every time I go out to bowl. There is added pressure I guess, but none I'm putting on myself. I'm just looking forward to doing my best for the Australian cricket team," said Lyon.

He furthered by saying that bounce for him is the most important thing in a game. He also claimed to have the ability of adopting variations, peace and mindset and gaining his control over the game. "I still believe bounce is a massive weapon. Having the ability to change up variations, pace and mindset depending on who I'm bowling to, personally, I'm trying to read the game; what's going to happen in the game and control that moment. Bounce is still an important factor for me.”

The wrist spinners are a valuable part to any side says Lyon

He said that the wrist spinners are one of the most valuable assets of the game and he is currently trying to maintain a lot of different variations to keep pace with his game. Obviously the wrist spinners are a valuable part to any side and I'm working on a couple of different variations to keep up with the game. The game is moving so fast, and it's a great opportunity for everyone to learn. But it's pretty important to have the balance of a couple of good spinners in your side,” he said.

He even appreciated the play of the Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, saying that spinners are important for going into the World Cup. He also said that right now he has to focus on the series against India and the upcoming series against Pakistan in the UAE.  “You look at India, Kuldeep Yadav's skills are unbelievable and [Ravindra] Jadeja has been quite impressive as well. I think it's important for any international side to have a couple of decent spinners going into the World Cup, “he concluded.
